The Corporate Purpose

"To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us and to have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A."

What Does This Mean?

Our Corporate Purpose is more than just words on a page—it's the foundation of how we operate our business and treat everyone we encounter. This purpose statement was crafted by our founder, S. Truett Cathy, and continues to guide every decision we make.

Glorifying God

We believe that operating our business in a way that honors God means treating people with dignity, respect, and care. It means maintaining the highest standards of integrity in all our business practices. It means recognizing that our success is a gift and responsibility, not just a right.

Faithful Stewardship

Being faithful stewards means we take seriously the responsibility of managing our resources—whether that's the food we serve, the people we employ, the communities we serve, or the financial resources entrusted to us. We believe in:

Positive Influence

Having a positive influence means we strive to make things better for everyone we encounter. This includes:

Our Team Members

We invest in our team members through scholarship opportunities, leadership development programs, and creating an environment where people can grow personally and professionally. We believe in caring for the whole person, not just seeing them as employees.

Our Customers

We aim to provide not just great food, but a remarkable experience. From our signature "My pleasure" response to going the extra mile in service, we want every interaction to be positive and memorable.

Our Communities

Each Chick-fil-A restaurant is deeply connected to its local community. Through partnerships with schools, support for local organizations, and giving initiatives, we seek to make our communities stronger and more vibrant.

Living Out Our Purpose

At Chick-fil-A East Ridge, we take this Corporate Purpose seriously. You'll see it reflected in:

  • How we treat our team members with respect and invest in their future
  • The care we take in preparing every meal to the highest standards
  • Our commitment to serving our guests with genuine hospitality
  • Our involvement in local schools and community organizations
  • The integrity we bring to every business decision
  • Our choice to close on Sundays, giving our team time for rest, worship, and family

Closed on Sundays

One of the most visible expressions of our Corporate Purpose is our decision to close on Sundays. Truett Cathy made this decision when he opened his first restaurant, believing that all team members deserve a day of rest. This practice continues today across all Chick-fil-A restaurants, even though Sunday is traditionally one of the busiest days for restaurants. We believe honoring this commitment is more important than the revenue we might gain.

A Purpose That Guides Us

Our Corporate Purpose isn't just about what we do—it's about why we do it. It reminds us that our work has meaning beyond profit, that we have a responsibility to use our influence for good, and that success is measured not just in financial terms, but in the positive impact we have on people's lives.

Whether you're a team member, a customer, a supplier, or a member of our community, we hope you'll experience the difference that comes from a business guided by purpose and principle.
